“Bright, light straw-yellow colour, lighter on the rim. The nose is fresh with gently full aromas of yellow stonefruits with some floral notes, nutty elements and suggestions of honeysuckle and chalky minerals. This has good depth and presence. Dryish to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate has moderately deep flavours of savoury yellow stonefruits and subtle floral notes, with an amalgam of honeysuckle and minerals. The palate has a vigorous core with some underlying alcoholic drive and light phenolic textures, with bright acid liveliness. The wine flows with good linearity to an up-front finish of stonefruits, minerals and subtle honied nuances. This is an up-front, vigorous, dry Pinot Gris with stonefruit, floral, honeysuckle and chalky mineral flavours on a light-textured, brisk palate. Match with Asian fare over the next 3 years. Fruit from the ‘Home’ block and ‘Deans’ vineyard, fermented in tank to 13.5% alc. and 6.6 g/L RS, the wine undergoing batonnage” Raymond Chan.
