Looking for a Chardonnay with a bit of age? 2015 was an interesting vintage in the Hawkes Bay with moderate frost in spring and an early and dry summer allowing the grapes, in particular Chardonnay, to ripen well. The grapes were picked in early March and from a variety of plots around the region leading to an interesting complexity on the palate – a true taste of the Hawkes Bay. Think nectarine, white peaches and zesty grapefruit along with slight toasty notes from the well-integrated oak. 4 years in the bottle has done wonders for the balance and integration, chill it down and serve in deep glass. – 17/20, Wine Central Tasting Panel
Fresh nectarine, stonefruit and grapefruit. The mouth feel is creamy with integrated oak creating balance. The finish is charmed with fresh fruit.
