A smart, focussed Chardonnay with Giesen’s Clayvin vineyard in the Southern Valleys contributing 8.9% of the blend with fruit from Rapaura providing the balance.
Barrel aged for 10 months in German oak Fuder with varying ages of oak to ensure the oak character was subtle and the fruit shone. 12% one year old oak, 18% two year old oak and 70% three year old oak with the balance older.
Bright, enticing aromas of freshly cut nectarines and stone fruit, hazelnut and fresh brioche. The fruit is balanced between complex layering of flint and oak on the palate. The finish is linear, slightly dry and exciting.
