“Arneis is one of the great white grapes of Piemonte in north west Italy; a region better known for serious big reds and light fruity bubbles. This wine has great character. It’s dry, medium bodied and has intense lemon flavours, which linger in every memorable sip. Talk about a refreshing dry white. Great with seafood.” – 4 Stars, Joelle Thomson, Wine Writer
“Piedmonts Little Rascal – intrigued? We were, and now we’re bringing it to you! Arneis is well known as a difficult grape to grow across the world, but in particular in its homeland of Piedmont, Italy. So much so that the origin of its name can be translated into ‘little rascal’. We almost lost this grape in the 1960’s as it teetered on extinction with only a few hectares left. But with the help of some dedicated Italian winemakers it made a come back and is now grown throughout the world from Piedmont, to Australia and here in NZ. This one is made in a traditional style, with notes of citrus, stone fruit and jasmine – which makes it a great match for seafood, especially grilled calamari.” – Wine Central Tasting Notes
