At this price you won’t buy better! Exclusive to us here in NZ comes this 2014 Saint-Emilion direct from Chateau Le Barry. At under $30 you won’t find such a well-aged wine from a great region anywhere else. The vines are planted on a relatively small 8ha plot on the slopes of Saint-Emilion and are a mixture of Merlot, Cab Sauv and Malbec which make up the blend here too. Aged in both new, and new and old barrels for 16 months, the oak is well integrated and backed up with dark black fruits, liquorice and a hint of vanilla. Its rich, concentrated and elegant and with 5 years ageing under its belt its ready to drink now. Try it with grilled beef or roast lamb. – 17/20 Wine Central Tasting Panel
This Bordeaux wine hails from the prestigious Saint-Emilion appellation and is a beautiful garnet ruby in the glass. The nose is rich and elegant with aromas of gingerbread, vanilla and ripe fruit. The fruit is then supple yet complex with notes of red fruits and vanilla. Delicious finish.
