“Incredibly tasty Chardonnay from Waipara Valley in the heart of the arid North Canterbury landscape. This Chardonnay is rich and creamy with fresh citrusy flavours of lemon and tangy grape fruit. It’s full bodied, smooth and dry. A tasty little number from one of this country’s most under rated, over performing wine regions.” – 4/5 Stars, Joelle Thomson, Wine Writer
“From one of NZ’s most celebrated winemakers Dom Maxwell (of Greystone and Muddy Water fame), comes the Black Hole range, made of single estate grapes sourced from Waipara. MW Bob Campbell has often called the region ‘one of the unsung heroes of the wine industry’ and we tend to agree, especially when deliciously complex wines like this land on our doorstep. You’ll find everything from mango, pineapple and yellow peach to vanilla and butterscotch in just one sip, chill down and savour every mouthful!” – 18/20, Wine Central Tasting Panel
This wine exhibits tropical characters of mango, coconut, pineapple and nectarine with butterscotch and caramel notes. The palate is rounded yet supple with excellent length through to a dry finish.
Dom was voted New Zealand Winemaker of the Year in 2011 and 2018, and has won the prestigious Decanter International Trophy for Pinot Noir in 2014.
